Best wishes from Buhari and Sanwo-Olu for Tinubu on his 72nd birthday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received warm birthday greetings from Former President Muhammadu Buhari on his 72nd birthday. Buhari expressed his wishes for the President’s good health and long life, hoping that the country could benefit from his exceptional leadership. The message was conveyed in a statement by Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, and shared with the media on Thursday.

Even as Tinubu turns 72 on Friday, he chose to have a modest birthday celebration, citing the challenging times the country is experiencing.

Buhari praised Tinubu for his continuous efforts to address the numerous issues facing the country and wished him a joyful birthday:

“My family and I pray to God that you remain healthy and happy and continue to work for the betterment of the country. Happy birthday to you!” concluded the statement.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, also congratulated Tinubu, lauding him as a bold, daring, and dedicated leader committed to Nigeria’s progress, growth, and development.

In a statement released on Thursday by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Mr Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu described Tinubu as an honest and transparent leader who has fearlessly tackled challenges hindering Nigeria’s prosperity and the well-being of its citizens.

Sanwo-Olu further praised the President as a visionary and skilled strategist.

He played a critical role in the establishment of democracy and good governance, initially as a Senator in the terminated third republic and later as a pro-democracy activist, actively involved as a member of the National Democratic Coalition in the fight for the validation of the June 12, 1993, presidential election.
