The demise of PDP was orchestrated by Wabara and others, claims Okechukwu
An original member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, has pointed out that the downfall of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is a result of the actions of its leaders.
In response to former Senate President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the main opposition party PDP, Senator Adolphus Wabara, Okechukwu expressed his opinions.
The BoT Chairman of the PDP had declared that any efforts by the ruling APC to transform Nigeria into a single-party system would encounter strong resistance.
This statement from Wabara occurred as a number of prominent figures, including former Governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Chuka Odom, and others, resigned from the PDP.
Contrary to the blame game directed at the APC by “Senator Wabara and Co who dug the grave of the PDP,” Okechukwu iterated that the responsibility lies squarely with the PDP leadership.
He argued that the PDP is facing internal challenges due to the breaches of conventions and laws by certain members, such as Obi, Kwankwaso, and Wike.
Okechukwu emphasized that instead of pointing fingers at the APC, the PDP should focus on internally resolving its issues and rebuilding the party from within.
Expressing concerns about the future of the PDP, Okechukwu suggested that the party needs to reflect on its failures and make necessary changes to avoid further setbacks.
He concluded that the PDP must undergo a process of introspection and reforms rather than engaging in futile blame games.
