President Tinubu set to depart Abuja for Netherlands on Tuesday

President Bola Tinubu will be departing from Abuja to the Netherlands on an official visit, following an invitation from the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte. This trip is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23.

During his visit, President Tinubu is expected to take part in the Nigerian-Dutch Business and Investment Forum, which aims to bring together leaders of conglomerates and organizations from both countries. This was disclosed in a statement released by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

The visit will include high-level discussions with the Dutch Prime Minister, as well as separate meetings with King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Kingdom.

Queen Maxima serves as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development.

The focus of the Nigerian-Dutch Business and Investment Forum will center on exploring collaborative opportunities, particularly in agriculture and water management, to enhance sustainable farming practices through innovative solutions.

The discussions will also encompass port management operations, leveraging the world-renowned expertise in this field from the Dutch officials.

Following his engagements in the Netherlands, President Tinubu is scheduled to attend a special World Economic Forum meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from April 28-29.

The forum will emphasize Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development, providing a platform for over 1,000 leaders from business, government, and academia to engage in dialogue.

This visit marks President Tinubu’s second trip to Saudi Arabia within a span of five months, where he will present his Renewed Hope Agenda for the country.

Accompanying the President will be a delegation comprising of ministers and other senior government officials.

This visit to the Netherlands will mark President Tinubu’s fourth visit to a European state since assuming office 11 months ago, making it his 18th foreign destination so far.

Previous destinations include Paris, France (thrice); London, the United Kingdom; Bissau, Guinea-Bissau (twice); Nairobi, Kenya; Porto Norvo, Benin Republic; New Delhi, India; Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates; New York, the United States of America; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Berlin, Germany; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Dakar, Senegal, and Doha, Qatar.
