The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has indicated a readiness to partner with Pelican Valley Limited to advance the growth of the real estate industry and consequently contribute to the country’s economy.

Her comments were made in response to a business presentation by the Chief Executive Officer of Pelican Valley, Mr Babatunde Adeyemo, at the NIDCOM office in Abuja.

Leading up to the launch of the first set of houses at the Pelican Ecostay Apartments on September 11, 2024, the head of NIDCOM expressed approval of the innovative real estate project, anticipating significant interest from Nigerians residing abroad.

During the presentation, Adeyemo informed Abike Dabiri that the initial batch of houses in the Ecostay Apartments would be unveiled on September 11, 2024, and extended an invitation for her to attend the event, which would be graced by the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and former governor Aremo Olusegun Osoba.

He mentioned, “Subscribers have until September 2025 to complete their installment payments for the properties, yet the projects will be finished and available for possession by September 2024. Additionally, the payment plans for Pelican Valley estates do not include any interest or hidden charges.”

Dabiri-Erewa, expressing her willingness to collaborate with Pelican Valley, reiterated her confidence in the project’s success.

She noted that she had been observing the real estate industry for some time, indicating her faith in Adeyemo as a developer who would not disappear with investors’ funds.

The former legislator also expressed excitement to see a young Nigerian entrepreneur like Adeyemo actively engaged in the real estate sector, contributing to job creation and supporting the government’s efforts to address the housing shortage in the country.

“Congratulations, Mr. Adeyemo, for your work in Pelican Valley, Ogun State. The diaspora Nigerians would likely be interested in your projects. Please provide us with more details. We wish you great success.

“It’s inspiring to see young Nigerian entrepreneurs making significant strides and working diligently. We should support our compatriots in the diaspora and worldwide. Hopefully, I might consider purchasing one,” she assured.

“I have been following his progress closely and I am particularly impressed with his work ethics. He is not the kind of developer who would take people’s money and vanish,” she added.

During the event, where Adeyemo was the keynote speaker, Dabiri-Erewa urged Nigerians to support each other in order to elevate Nigeria’s reputation, while Adeyemo underscored the importance of diaspora members not waiting until retirement to establish investment ties with their homeland.

Pelican’s Ecostay Apartments project is situated within the Pelican Brief Estate, a developing Smart City in the Kobape – Masa area of Ogun State, less than a 45-minute drive from Ikeja, the capital of Lagos.

This March, the company invested approximately N20m in installing industrial solar street lights at the estate, linking roads, and other residential areas.
