Spain and Brazil Not a Concern for Paris 2024, Says Former Super Falcons Coach

Edwin Okon, former head coach of the Super Falcons, is confident that the team will not be daunted by the reputation of the teams in their group at the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games.

Having been drawn in a challenging group alongside reigning world champions Spain, Japan, and Brazil, the nine-time African champions are up for the challenge.

Okon firmly believes that the Super Falcons possess the necessary qualities to progress from the group stage.

According to the Rivers Angels coach, “I have faith in the players because they understand the significance of the competition.”

He emphasized, “When the Super Falcons confront these opponents, it will simply be a match of 11 players against 11 players – names do not determine the outcome on the field.”

He added, “There is no need for apprehension since the opponents too are aiming to build a reputation at this elite level of the sport.”

Randy Waldrum’s team will kick off their campaign against Brazil in Bordeaux on July 25 as they make a long-awaited Olympic return after 16 years.
