Payment of Bursaries Commences for 9,989 Students in Kwara
Commencement of the disbursement of bursary grants for the academic year 2023/2024 to a total of 9,989 final-year students from Kwara State attending various tertiary institutions nationwide has been initiated by the Kwara State Government.
As conveyed by the Press Secretary in the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Mansurat Amuda-Kannike, the beneficiaries have been selected from all 16 local government areas in the state and are studying in diverse tertiary institutions across the country.
“The bursary award of N10,000 per student, which has been graciously approved by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has now commenced disbursement,” it was revealed in a statement.
“The payment process commenced on Wednesday, March 27, and will be ongoing until completion. Direct deposit to their personal accounts is being effected to ensure transparency and accountability,” the statement further explained.
The statement went on to quote Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Mary Arinde, as saying, “For a few successful applicants with incorrect account details, we will be reaching out to them.”
It was emphasized by the commissioner that only Kwara students who had enrolled on the designated government portal are eligible to receive the bursary allowances.
