Former Governor Suswam: Nigeria’s Economic Decline Unsolvable Under Tinubu Administration
In a recent interview on Channels Television, Gabriel Suswam, the former Governor of Benue State, expressed doubt in the ability of President Bola Tinubu’s government to turn around Nigeria’s economic fortunes.
Suswam criticized the Tinubu administration, stating that it lacks the capacity to address the economic challenges inherited from the previous Muhammadu Buhari-led government.
Reflecting on the past eight years of governance, Suswam highlighted the detrimental impact of the “Change” mantra introduced by Buhari, leading to the destruction of the foundation laid by the PDP.
He lamented the current economic situation, describing it as dire and emphasized his skepticism towards the Tinubu leadership’s ability to improve it.
Suswam pointed to policy decisions such as the removal of petrol subsidy, currency devaluation, and electricity tariff hikes as indicators of the government’s detrimental approach towards the welfare of Nigerian citizens.
