Emeka Ihedioha, the former Imo State governor, recently paid a visit to Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, who is the sole governor elected under the Labour Party.

In a post on X, Ihedioha shared images from his visit to Government House in Umuahia, expressing his pleasure at meeting with Governor @alexottiofr. He commended Otti’s achievements in Abia State.

After his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ihedioha’s visit to Otti follows shortly.

In his resignation letter to the PDP chairman in Mbutu Ward, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, Ihedioha cited a disparity between his beliefs and the current direction of the party.

Despite his resignation, he reiterated his commitment to promoting democracy and good governance in Nigeria.

Being a member of the PDP since 1998, Ihedioha highlighted his significant contributions to the party’s growth.

However, he criticized the recent course of the PDP, pointing out its deviation from core principles and its failure to enact internal reforms or effectively challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Concluding his letter, Ihedioha emphasized that while resigning was a tough decision, he believed it was necessary. He expressed willingness to continue contributing to the country’s democratic advancement.
