Edo’s Labour Party Celebrates the Re-election of Abure as National Chairman
Congratulations poured in for Barrister Julius Abure on his successful re-election as the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Edo State.
During the party’s national convention in Nnewi, Anambra State, Abure and other members of the National Working Committee retained their positions in a re-election on Wednesday.
In a statement by the State chapter’s Publicity Secretary, Sam Uroupa, Abure’s victory was hailed as a testament to his exceptional leadership qualities, unwavering dedication, and commitment to the party’s core principles.
Uroupa remarked that Abure’s re-election signaled a strong vote of confidence from party members and stakeholders in his ability to guide the party towards even greater achievements.
He emphasized that Abure’s experience, visionary approach, and strategic governance style were key factors in his successful re-election, highlighting the trust and backing he has among party members.
“Throughout Abure’s leadership tenure, the Labour Party has experienced significant growth and progress both at the national level and within Edo State. His inclusive leadership approach, focus on grassroots mobilization, and emphasis on transparency have deeply resonated with party members, fostering unity and cohesion,” Uroupa stated.
He continued, “Abure’s exceptional skill in managing a political party is a rare find in Nigeria; he elevated the Labour Party from obscurity to a globally recognized entity.”
“As the National Chairman, he has been a staunch advocate for the core values of the Labour Party, championing social justice, equality, and empowerment of the working class,” he added.
Regarding the upcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State on September 21, 2024, the state party leadership reiterated its full support for Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata’s candidacy, emphasizing the need for a credible alternative that aligns with the people’s desires.
“Despite the changing political landscape, the party remains resolute in its commitment to promoting good governance, social welfare, and economic prosperity for all Edo State residents,” he affirmed.
The party also extended congratulations to the other re-elected members of the National Working Committee alongside the National Chairman, pledging to collaborate closely to achieve the party’s objectives and aspirations.
Additionally, there was praise for the National Convention Committee Chairman, Abia State’s Deputy Governor Ikechukwu Emetu, for overseeing a successful convention.
