APC Diaspora Chairman from Italy Urges for Peace in Enugu amid Party Crisis
Addressing the ongoing crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu state, the APC Diaspora Chairman of Italy Chapter, Prince Chima Ibezim, has called on party leaders and stakeholders to come together and find a solution.
In a statement released in Lagos on Friday, Ibezim, who also serves as the Financial Director of the APC Committee of Diaspora Chairmen (CDC), emphasized the importance of strengthening the party in Enugu and the broader South East region.
Expressing disappointment over the current turmoil within the party chapter, Ibezim stressed the need for unity and urged against any actions that could divide the party in Enugu and its surrounding areas.
He encouraged party members to collaborate closely with dedicated party leaders in the South East to bolster the APC’s presence in the region.
Ibezim specifically highlighted the efforts of key leaders such as the Commissioner representing Enugu State in the Federal Character Commission, FCC, and Ginika Tor, for their unwavering commitment to advancing the Renewed Hope administration in the South East and across Nigeria.
Pointing towards a more cohesive South-Eastern bloc under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, Ibezim emphasized the need for unity to maximize the region’s potential and benefits from the current administration.
He called upon influential figures like the Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Governor Hope Uzodinma, and other prominent leaders from the South-East to utilize their positions in resolving the existing challenges within the Enugu chapter.
It is worth noting that the Enugu chapter of the APC has been engulfed in a crisis following a vote-of-no-confidence passed by party stakeholders against the current Chairman, Mr Ugochukwu Agballah.
