Urgent Update: Enugu Community Attacked by Herdsmen, Multiple Fatalities Reported
Reports indicate that Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State has once again fallen victim to an assault by suspected Fulani herdsmen. The recent attack, which took place late on Sunday night, resulted in numerous casualties and left many others severely wounded.
According to sources, the assailants targeted mourners at Ugwuijoro Nimbo community, leaving behind a trail of devastation and grief.
Among those who lost their lives are Okeh Simon Ugwu Oruku, Okeh Chukwuebuka, Julius Ogbonna Odiegwu, and Gabriel Ugwor Ezea.
A disturbing video discovered on Monday morning by NewsNow depicted a ghostly, abandoned community.
The narrator in the video described how the invaders caught the villagers off guard, unleashing a hail of gunfire on the mourners. The scene was chaotic, with tables and chairs strewn about, and lifeless bodies lying in pools of blood.
It is worth noting that Nimbo had previously been attacked in 2016, resulting in numerous casualties that sparked national outrage.
At present, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Enugu State Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, has not yet responded to inquiries made by NewsNow regarding the recent attack.
