Real Madrid President Stops Ancelotti From Signing Harry Kane
Last summer, it was reported that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez intervened to prevent manager Carlo Ancelotti from securing the signature of Harry Kane from Tottenham.
Ancelotti had identified Kane as his top transfer target for the season, prioritizing him even over Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
This pursuit was driven by the need to fill the void left by Karim Benzema’s departure to Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.
However, Perez vetoed the move as his main objective was focused on acquiring Kylian Mbappe during the same transfer window.
Perez was prepared to have Madrid operate without a recognized striker until the arrival of Mbappe on a free transfer.
In the end, Kane opted to join Bayern Munich and has since been in impressive form, netting 42 goals in all competitions and aiding Thomas Tuchel’s side in reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League where they will face Real Madrid.
