Insight into Xabi Alonso’s Coaching Excellence by Victor Boniface

Victor Boniface, Bayer Leverkusen forward, has highlighted the distinguishing factor that sets manager Xabi Alonso apart as one of the elite coaches globally.

Last weekend, Alonso steered Die Werkself to their first-ever Bundesliga title, and the team is also vying for the DFB Pokal trophy while being in the UEFA Europa League semi-final.

Boniface hailed the manager’s impactful approach during training sessions, sparking motivation among the players.

Speaking to AFP, Boniface shared, “Just envision training where your coach is outperforming you – it naturally propels you to elevate your performance.”

“His active participation in training serves as a motivational catalyst for us,” he added.

He continued, “At times, he recounts instances of players he played alongside, who shared similar skill sets with me. Alonso meticulously works on enhancing my weaker attributes.”
