On Sunday, Babagana Umara Zulum, the governor of Borno State, made a trip to Malam-Fatori, the headquarters of Abadam Local Government Council in northern Borno State.

During his visit, Zulum took the opportunity to praise President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his swift actions in addressing the insurgency in the Northeast region.

Interacting with the officers and soldiers of the task force battalion in Malam-Fatori, Zulum assured them of his commitment to providing the necessary support to supplement the efforts of the federal government.

Discussions during the meeting focused on the plans for the return of the people of Malam-Fatori to their community, following their displacement due to flooding last year. The initial resettlement efforts by the Borno State Government were also a topic of discussion.

Expressing his optimism, Zulum stated, “I have engaged with the officers here and witnessing the dedication and hard work of the commanding officer, I am confident that we can facilitate the resettlement of the residents in this community.”

He further mentioned, “I am pleased to see that many residents of Malam-Fatori who relocated to Bosso were able to return and cultivate their farmlands; this is a significant accomplishment.”

The governor acknowledged and appreciated the commitment of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, towards restoring peace in Borno State.

Zulum was accompanied by Bukar Talba, a member of the House of Representatives, and Jamna Bong, the representative of Abadam at the Borno State House of Assembly.

Joining the governor’s entourage were two commissioners, Prof. Usman Tar (Information and Internal Security) and Sugun Mai Mele (Local Government and Emirates Affairs).
