Anthony Joshua shares details on his upcoming fight, including date, venue, and potential opponents
It has been confirmed by Nigerian-British boxer, Anthony Joshua, that his next bout is scheduled for either September 20 or 21 at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium.
After his last fight against Francis Ngannou on March 8, Joshua hinted at the possibilities for his next opponent.
He mentioned that the decision on his next challenger is contingent upon the outcomes of the matches on the June 1 card in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The June 1 event will feature Deontay Wilder facing Zhilei Zhang and Filip Hrgovic taking on Daniel Dubois.
Joshua disclosed his plan to square off against the winner of one of these bouts.
During an interview with talkSPORT, Joshua expressed his readiness for the upcoming fight, stating, “If they confirm a date, I’ll be fully prepared. The venue will be Wembley Stadium in London.”
Regarding his potential opponent, Joshua revealed, “During the 5 vs 5 card in Saudi Arabia on June 1, there are compelling matchups like Filip Hrgovic vs Daniel Dubois and Zhilei Zhang vs Deontay Wilder.”
He also mentioned a conversation he had with His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, where the Saudi official indicated his preference for Joshua to face the most impressive fighter from those matchups.
