Update on N50,000 grants: Nigerian government confirms payment progress
According to recent reports, the Nigerian government has announced that the N50,000 Conditional Grant Scheme for Nigerians is still in progress, with disbursements made to 150,000 out of the one million intended recipients.
In a statement released by the Minister of Trade and Investment, Doris Uzoka-Anite, it was revealed that the grant disbursements are continuing, with 150,000 payments already processed this week.
“For those who have been verified and are awaiting their funds, we thank you for your patience. To ensure transparency, a comprehensive list of all beneficiaries will be made public upon completion,” she stated.
The grant disbursement initiative, which was launched last week, forms part of the efforts by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ease the impact of the removal of fuel subsidies.
Last December, the Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme introduced a portal for interested individuals to register as potential beneficiaries.
