Tragic Outcomes of Measles in Adamawa: 19 Children Lost
In the Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa State, a heartbreaking toll of 19 children has succumbed to suspected measles complications.
Speaking to reporters in Mubi, the Commissioner for Health, Mr. Felix Tangwami, disclosed that over 200 children in the locality have been affected by the outbreak.
The rapid mobilization of medical personnel and essential medications to the affected regions was triggered by the outbreak reported in Yola last Saturday.
Mr. Tangwami assured that children facing severe infections would be promptly directed to appropriate hospital facilities for further treatment.
Highlighting the situation, the commissioner indicated the planned movement of the medical team from Mubi to address the outbreak in the Gombi Local Government Area.
The outbreak, according to Tangwami, is ultimately attributed to parents’ hesitance in immunizing their children.
