Confirmation of Two Fatalities in Osogbo Accident by Police
Confirmation has been received from the Osun State Police Command regarding a tragic traffic incident in Osogbo that resulted in two casualties in the early hours of Saturday.
Yemisi Opalola, the spokesperson for the command, disclosed in an official statement that the individuals who lost their lives were the unidentified motorcyclist and the passenger accompanying them.
As per the statement: “At approximately 06:25 am on April 27, 2024, a fatal collision involving a motor vehicle and a motorcycle took place opposite Mobil filling station in the Ogo-Oluwa area of Osogbo.”
“The vehicles involved were a Toyota RAV4 with the registration number KUJ417DH, driven by Dauda Tewogbade, and a Bajaj motorcycle bearing the registration number SGB708UH. The identity of the motorcyclist remains unknown at this time.”
“The incident occurred when the driver of the SUV was proceeding from the Olaiya region towards Abere Road and, upon reaching a location opposite Mobil filling station, collided with the motorcyclist who was traveling in the opposite direction. This collision resulted in the immediate deaths of the motorcyclist and their passenger.”
“The driver of the RAV4 Jeep and their companion sustained injuries and were promptly transported to UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital in Osogbo for medical attention, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the same hospital’s morgue for further examination.”
