627 PDP Delegates to Determine Ondo Gubernatorial Candidate Today

Today, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will witness the election of its standard-bearer for the upcoming Ondo State governorship election by a total of 627 delegates.

The selection of the delegates took place during the party’s congress conducted in all 18 local government areas of the state.

With seven aspirants vying for the party’s nomination, including Adeolu Akinwumi, Bosun Arebuwa, Sola Ebiseni, Agboola Ajayi, Bamidele Akingboye, John Ola Mafo, and Kolade Akinjo, the competition is stiff.

Notably, Agboola Ajayi and Sola Ebiseni had previously competed for the party’s ticket without success.

Heading the primaries will be the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who serves as the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee.

The venue for the primaries, according to the party’s state Publicity Secretary, Kennedy Peretei, is the International Culture and Events Centre (The Dome) in Akure.

It is anticipated that the 627 delegates from all 18 local government areas of the state will play a crucial role in selecting the party’s candidate for the governorship election scheduled for November 16, 2024.

Attendees who are not part of the delegation or have no official business at the venue are advised to maintain a reasonable distance from the arena.
