627 PDP Delegates Set to Choose Candidate for Gubernatorial Elections
Today, an important event will take place as 627 delegates from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will select the party’s candidate for the upcoming gubernatorial elections in Ondo State.
These delegates were chosen through a congress that occurred throughout the 18 local government areas of the state.
Among the candidates vying for the party’s ticket, seven have been cleared to participate in the election process.
The aspirants are Adeolu Akinwumi, Bosun Arebuwa, Sola Ebiseni, Agboola Ajayi, Bamidele Akingboye, John Ola Mafo, and Kolade Akinjo.
It is worth noting that Ajayi and Ebiseni have previously competed for the party’s ticket without success.
The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, will oversee the primaries as the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee.
The Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Kennedy Peretei, confirmed the venue for the primaries as the International Culture and Events Centre (The Dome) in Akure.
A total of 627 delegates representing the 18 local government areas of the state will participate in electing the party’s standard-bearer for the November 16, 2024, gubernatorial election.
Individuals who are not delegates or do not have official business at the venue are advised to maintain a reasonable distance from the arena.
