Xavi’s unexpected decision: he’s staying on as Barcelona manager
Breaking news from Barcelona as Xavi Hernandez, the team’s manager, has had a change of heart regarding his departure from the club this summer.
Recent reports indicate that Xavi held a meeting with club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco on Wednesday night.
Following the meeting, Xavi decided to accept the conditions set forth by the club and will remain in charge of the LaLiga side for the upcoming season.
This surprising turn of events was disclosed by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on his X page.
Romano’s announcement read: “Update: Xavi has made a U-turn and will be continuing as the manager of Barcelona!
“After productive discussions tonight where Laporta persuaded him to stay, Xavi has agreed to the club’s terms and will carry on as head coach.
“Official confirmation to follow soon.”
It’s worth noting that Xavi had previously announced his intention to leave Nou Camp at the conclusion of the current season back in February.
