Dr. Sam Ohuabunwa, a former presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 elections, emphasized the crucial role of Igbo governors and leaders in Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s activities. He believes their involvement is essential for enhancing economic growth and addressing insecurity in the South-East region.

He expressed concerns about the passive approach of Igbo governors towards Ohanaeze Ndigbo, warning that it could hinder economic progress and development in the Igbo community.

Speaking at the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Retreat in Enugu, Ohuabunwa, a former Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, highlighted the theme ‘Ako Bu Ije,’ which focuses on applying wisdom in decision-making processes.

In his role as the Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Council of Business Leaders, Ohuabunwa outlined the organization’s mandate to promote entrepreneurship, drive industrialization, attract investments, and develop economic strategies for the Igbo nation.

He stressed the need for government participation in initiatives such as reviving dormant businesses, creating a conducive business environment, and ensuring secure land procurement processes.

Ohuabunwa underscored the importance of government support in providing infrastructure, implementing favorable tax policies, and enhancing security measures for businesses to thrive effectively.

Reflecting on the motto ‘Ako Bu Ije’ of his town union, Nzuko Aro, Ohuabunwa highlighted the significance of applying wisdom in navigating challenges to achieve collective goals within the Igbo community.

He emphasized the need for strategic decision-making and unity among the Igbo people in Nigeria to secure their position and contribute meaningfully to the country’s progress.
