The ruling All Progressives Congress has generated N720m from 16 governorship aspirants vying for the party ticket in Ondo State after the deadline for the sales of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms closed on Wednesday.

Sales for the forms commenced on March 27 and concluded yesterday.

The party set the Expression of Interest form at N10m, while the Nomination Form was priced at N40m.

However, female aspirants and individuals with disabilities were only required to obtain the Expression of Interest form as the Nomination form was waived for them.

The party’s leadership announced that aspirants have until Friday, April 5, to complete and submit their forms to the directorate of organization.

In another development, the National Working Committee of the APC has opted for a direct primary to choose the Ondo governorship candidate for the April 20 shadow poll.

This decision was communicated in a letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission notifying them of the party primary in the state.

The letter, jointly signed by the National Chairman of APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and the National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, was confirmed by the Deputy National Organizing Secretary, Nze Chidi Duru on Wednesday night.
