Published

on

Recently, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission raised the cost of a kilowatt of electricity to N225 for customers in Band A residing in urban areas. This adjustment spurred the revelation of the duration required to consume 1 unit (1KWH) of electricity.

The disclosure came from SatiSense, which shared the information via its X handle on Thursday.

As previously reported by NewsNow, NERC approved the hike in electricity tariffs for customers falling under the Band A category.

Musliu Oseni, the Vice Chairman of NERC, announced the impending increase in electricity prices, leading to a new rate of N225 per kilowatt-hour, significantly higher than the current N66 rate.

NERC clarified that this tariff adjustment would impact only about 15% of their customer base.
