An accusation has been made by the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, claiming that Governor Siminalayi Fubara is working towards obtaining interim orders that would declare the state House of Assembly as unlawful.

The main opposition party in the state also criticized Fubara’s recent remarks made on Wednesday during an address to members of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees in Government House, Port Harcourt. The party viewed his comments as provocative and disrespectful towards President Bola Tinubu.

These revelations were shared by the State APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, Tony Okocha, at a press conference held in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

Fubara’s statement in response to his critics amidst the ongoing political turmoil in the state was, “If you challenge me, I will take you by surprise.”

The governor further encouraged members of NULGE in the state to be prepared and stand firm, stating, “The upcoming phase will be met with equal force.”
