Bayer Leverkusen Enthused by Boniface’s Comeback from Injury in Bundesliga

Victor Boniface’s return from injury has brought joy to Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso.

Playing for Die Werkself in 2024 against Fortuna Dusseldorf on Wednesday night marked Boniface’s first appearance after a stint on the sidelines due to adductor surgery in January.

In the game, the 23-year-old took over from Patrick Schick in the 66th minute as Alonso praised his performance and emphasized the significance of having him back in action.

Reflecting on Boniface’s return, Alonso mentioned, “It was a special moment for him to make a comeback after being out for three months. His determination to return to the field and share the joy with his teammates was commendable. His return was crucial for us.”

This season, the striker has amassed an impressive record of 16 goals and seven assists in 25 games across various competitions for Leverkusen.
