Alleged Theft of N2.1m Leads to Arraignment of a Man



Isikalu Oluwaseun, a 35-year-old man, appeared before the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State on Thursday. He is facing accusations of stealing N2,100,000 and has pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge which includes conspiracy, felony, and obtaining money by false pretense.

The prosecutor, Insp Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the alleged offenses took place on March 10 in the Grammar school area of Ikorodu. Oluwaseun is accused of deceiving Mrs. Gift Enuekaonye, the complainant, by promising her a two-bedroom apartment in exchange for the money.

The prosecutor highlighted that these actions are in violation of Sections 411, 314, and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Magistrate A. O. Ogbe granted bail to the defendant in the amount of N200,000. Additionally, two sureties are required to provide the same sum as bail.

The case has been adjourned until May 16 for further proceedings.
