Aid given to families of deceased police officers in Kogi totals N39m

Presenting cheques worth N39m to 25 families of deceased officers in Kogi, the State Commissioner of Police, Berthrand Onuoha, acted on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

A statement released by the command’s spokesman, SP William Aya, confirmed this on Thursday.

During the cheque presentation ceremony on Wednesday, the CP revealed that the initiative was part of the Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident Insurance Schemes designed to enhance the welfare of deceased police officers’ families and to provide support to officers who were victims of accidents while performing their duties.

The CP also emphasized that this gesture aimed to motivate other active-duty officers to display diligence.

“Recognizing the sacrifices made by the deceased officers and accident victims in safeguarding the nation, the Nigeria Police Force values their commitment,” stated the CP.

In his advice to the recipients, he encouraged them to use the money wisely for the well-being of their families.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the IG for the support and assured they would utilize the funds for the benefit of their families.
