On Wednesday, Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State criticized the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, for accusing him of renting crowds for thanksgiving.

During a speech to his supporters, Wike expressed regret for supporting Fubara in becoming the governor and mentioned feeling deceived by Fubara’s pretense.

The ongoing tension between Wike and Fubara does not seem close to being resolved, despite a peace negotiation initiated by President Bola Tinubu.

While receiving a solidarity rally from members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Fubara highlighted the significant turnout of supporters as evidence of the genuine support his administration continues to receive from the people.

Addressing the crowd, Fubara refuted the accusation of renting crowds for thanksgiving and stated that the support demonstrated by the people was a reflection of appreciation for God and good governance.
