House of LP chairman Abure in Abuja gutted by fire

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Labour Party revealed that a fire had ravaged the residence of their national chairman, Julius Abure, during the early hours of the day.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, highlighted that they suspect the incident to be an assassination attempt on Abure.

According to the statement, the fire broke out around 1 am while Abure and his family were asleep.

Neighbours and security personnel living in the compound raised the alarm, alerting the family to the danger they were in as the fire had spread to the staircase, blocking their escape route.

Fortunately, with the help of courageous neighbours and security guards, a window upstairs was dismantled, creating a way for Abure and his family to flee.

Following the evacuation, the Fire Service arrived at the scene. Abure and his family were then rushed to a private hospital for medical care. Currently, they are in stable condition and receiving treatment.
