Great News: Tinubu Officially Approves Student Loan Bill as Law

President Bola Tinubu has officially given the green light to the Student Loans (Access to Higher Education) Act (Repeal and Re-Enactment) Bill of 2024, making it official law.

After careful considerations by both the Senate and the House of Representatives regarding the report from the Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFund, Tinubu has taken this significant step.

Emphasizing the importance of education as a vital tool in the fight against poverty, Tinubu expressed his commitment to ensuring that all Nigerian children have equal access to education.

In his remarks, he stated, “It is with great pleasure that I have signed the bill pertaining to student loans. I extend my gratitude to the National Assembly for their prompt handling of this bill, recognizing the importance of education in combating poverty effectively.”

“Our goal is to prioritize education and skill development programs to ensure that every Nigerian, regardless of their economic background, has the opportunity for quality education and the chance to shape their future.”

“We are all beneficiaries of education and support. In the past, we witnessed too many young individuals dropping out of schools and missing out on opportunities.”

“This will no longer be the case; the requirements and regulations are now in place to ensure that every Nigerian citizen has access to education, irrespective of their background.”
