Prior to the upcoming governorship election in Ondo State, the state government has issued a strong caution to civil servants, urging them to stay away from engaging in partisan politics.

In a statement delivered by the Head of Service, Bayo Philip, the government advised civil servants to strictly adhere to the principles of public service by refraining from any involvement in electoral campaigns or related activities.

This advice was given during the commencement of the 2024 promotion exercise for civil servants in the state.

Emphasizing the importance of maintaining neutrality and professionalism among state workers, Philip encouraged them to focus on the responsibilities and tasks for which they were hired as civil servants.

“I also want to remind you that this is an election year. Concentrate on your duties. As civil servants, you should avoid engaging in partisan politics. Use your minds more than your words,” he emphasized.

Philip further mentioned that over 4,200 eligible workers would be promoted in the state as part of the exercise.

He confirmed that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa had sanctioned the promotion of all deserving officers, along with the accompanying financial benefits.
