Excitement Grows as Ogun Gears Up for International Trade Fair

With just a few days left until the kickoff of the 13th Gateway International Trade Fair, anticipation is mounting throughout the Southwest geopolitical zone of Nigeria as stakeholders get ready to descend upon Abeokuta, Ogun State for the highly anticipated annual event.

Scheduled to take place from April 19 to 29, 2024, at the prestigious M.K.O Abiola International Trade Fair Complex in Abeokuta, this year’s trade fair promises an expanded lineup of exhibitors, products, and an improved transportation system to facilitate visitor movement to the Trade Fair Complex.

Preparations are in full swing to welcome attendees to the trade fair, as stated by the Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Industry, Oluyemisi Somorin-Dawodu, during discussions with journalists regarding the trade fair’s theme, “Achieving Economic Prosperity Through Business Connection, Trade, and Investment.”

This year’s trade fair is more than just a showcase of products, emphasized Somorin-Dawodu, with a host of economic and trade-related activities planned to enhance the overall experience for participants traveling from various locations.

As part of the new offerings, residents and stakeholders in the state will have the opportunity to vie for the grand prize of a two-bedroom bungalow in a raffle draw to be held during the Fair.

An entertainment village, aimed at adding more excitement to the event while meeting visitors’ needs, has also been introduced by the organizers.

Somorin-Dawodu highlighted the buzz generated among stakeholders by the fresh innovations implemented for this year’s event as the date approaches.

She noted the joint efforts of the Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA), responsible for organizing the annual Trade Fair, and the Ogun State government, working relentlessly to provide participants with unforgettable experiences.

“We have made the Fair bigger and better. Alongside other enhancements, the introduction of the raffle draw is expected to attract more attendees to the Trade Fair, with daily prizes up for grabs,” mentioned the Special Adviser.

In addition, the main attraction is the two-bedroom bungalow as the grand prize, with the Entertainment Village offering a vibrant mix of refreshments and live entertainment to enhance the overall atmosphere.

OGUNCCIMA President, Engr. Mike Akingbade, also expressed optimism about the increased turnout at the trade fair due to the state government’s new initiatives.

“We are dedicated to ensuring an even better trade fair experience,” Akingbade affirmed.
