Renowned economist and prominent member of the Labour Party, Pat Utomi, has issued a grave caution that the naira could plummet to N10,000 against the dollar if urgent action is not taken.

Utomi delivered this stark prediction on Sunday during an event organized by activist Dr. Moses Paul to commemorate the first anniversary of the 2023 presidential election.

Expressing his concerns, Utomi emphasized that the nation is rapidly deteriorating as those in power appear disconnected from the populace.

“Our country is in a state of decay; it is decaying because there is a lack of trust between the populace and the governing authorities. The leadership is out of touch with the people, resulting in a rapid downward spiral,” remarked Utomi.

“At this critical juncture, we must stand up as responsible citizens and take immediate action to salvage our country. We cannot afford to wait until the next election in 2027; the time to reclaim our nation is now. We possess the knowledge and solutions that the current administration lacks.”

He went on to caution, “If we do not establish our own security framework, there will be a collapse in production. Consequently, without production, we will witness the naira hitting N10,000 per dollar, mark my words.”
