In a recent speech at the expanded executive meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Samuel Ortom, the former governor of Benue State, reaffirmed his commitment to the party, dispelling speculations about his switch to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ortom stated, “I am not decamping to the APC. The rumors circulating about my defection are unfounded. I am dedicated to the PDP, and I have not received any invitation from the APC to join their ranks. I am focused on my party and the leadership responsibilities it entails.”

He emphasized the importance of respecting the party and urged members to strategize for the upcoming elections, declaring, “We must plan ahead and outmaneuver our opponents as they did in 2023.”

Addressing allegations of discord with former governor Gabriel Suswam and Senator Abba Moro, Ortom reassured that there is no friction among them, stating, “The PDP remains the stronghold of the people’s aspirations, and with our renewed dedication, we will bolster the party for the future.”

He concluded optimistically, “We are poised for success in the upcoming elections. I remain focused on our party’s growth and unity.”
