EPL Kalvin Phillips in shock move to Man Citys rival

England’s Kalvin Phillips has hit back at Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola for passing a comment about his weight. The Manchester City midfielder has joined West Ham on loan after reaching an agreement with both Premier League clubs. Since his £45 million move from Leeds in July 2022, Phillips has only made 31 appearances under Guardiola. In December, Guardiola admitted that he could not envision the England midfielder in his team and accused him of gaining weight, implying that he was not training as required. Phillips had previously expressed his displeasure over the comment in an interview with BBC, and recently he reiterated his feelings, saying that Guardiola’s comment did not sit well with his mum. He acknowledged that Guardiola was right to point out his weight but expressed his dismay at the way it was handled and the impact it had on his confidence and family.
