Labor Party in Edo state has made adjustments to its primary election guidelines by extending the sale of forms to end on Monday, February 12, with the governorship primaries now scheduled to be held on February 23.
The announcement of these changes came following the meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and was communicated by Obiora Ifoh, the National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party.
In addition to the adjustment in dates, the party also increased the number of local government delegates from five to seven in all 18 LGAs based on input from various stakeholders, including members of the National Assembly, elders, and party leaders in the state. This decision was aimed at promoting wider participation and democratization of the exercise.
The party assured all aspirants of a fair and transparent process and declared its commitment to refrain from interfering in the emergence of its flag bearer.
