Edo Guber: APC clears Pastor Ize-Iyamu, Idahosa, 10 other aspirants

Appeal Court grants plea by APC candidates to present witnesses

The APC in Edo State has announced that 12 individuals have been cleared by the gubernatorial aspirants screening committee to contend for the party’s ticket. The primary elections are set to take place on February 22. According to a statement signed by the National Organizing Secretary, Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, the screening exercise was conducted on Thursday and Friday.

The successful candidates cleared by the committee include Prince Clem Agba, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Lucky Imasuen, Anamero Sunday Dekeri, Pastor Osagie Andrew Ize-Iyamu, and Engr. Gideon Ikhine. Also cleared are Col David Imuse, Rtd, Prof Oserheinmen Osunbor, Blessing Agbomhere, Danis Idahosa, and Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe.

The statement further mentioned that the “Certificate of Screening will be presented to all the 12 Gubernatorial Aspirants at the Party’s National Secretariat by the National Organising Secretary, Saturday, 10th February, 2024”. If any of the 12 aspirants emerge as the party’s flagbearer during the primary polls, they will compete for the Governorship seat on September 21.
