The State Government of Osun has issued a statement denying any mass recruitment into the state’s civil service. The government emphasized that the sale of forms by the Osun State Civil Service Commission is a regular official procedure. It clarified that the only approved recruitment at the moment is for 500 new teachers and 250 education officers.
The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, stressed that the information of mass recruitment was misconstrued, cautioning the public and employment seekers not to misinterpret the recruitment of teachers as a mass recruitment into the civil service. The government advised those who have obtained the forms to keep them safe until an official announcement is made regarding any mass recruitment exercise.
The ongoing recruitment drive aims to fill existing vacancies in the teaching service to strengthen the education sector. The statement concluded by reiterating that any general mass recruitment into the Civil Service would only be officially announced through designated media channels.
