Two pizza outlets in the FCT have faced penalties from the FCT Directorate of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC after being found using expired dough blend seasoning, as disclosed by Mr Ozigis Abdulsalam, the FCT Director of the agency, in a statement on Friday in Abuja.

Acting on intelligence information, the FCT department of NAFDAC conducted an inspection of pizza outlets and uncovered the use of expired dough blend seasoning at two of them. Additionally, it was noted that the two outlets were utilizing deep ham slices in the preparation of their pizzas.

Mr Abdulsalam emphasized that such actions amounted to a neglect of best practices and could pose a threat to food safety, potentially resulting in public health concerns. He further noted that the seized ingredients led to penalties being imposed on the company, with an expectation for them to provide an undertaking to refrain from engaging in such practices in the future.
