Victor Osehobo, the Assistant Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, has refuted claims that Adams Oshiomhole, the Edo North Senator, is imposing the preferred governorship aspirant of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for the party’s upcoming primary election on February 17.

Osehobo dismissed the reports, asserting that Oshiomhole respects due process and would not impose a favored candidate.

Speaking in Benin, the Edo State capital, Osehobo labeled the allegations as an attempt to sow chaos ahead of the primary elections.

He stated, “Accusations of Sen. Oshiomhole endorsing and imposing a preferred governorship aspirant are baseless, considering the direct primary process yet to take place.”

Emphasizing the timing of the allegations, with primary screenings commencing, Osehobo expressed suspicion and highlighted the lack of credibility in claiming secret meetings orchestrated by Oshiomhole.

Osehobo questioned the alleged gatherings and the failure to directly approach the individuals involved for clarification, indicating the absurdity of the claims.
