Following the unfortunate passing of Cairo Ojougboh, a prominent figure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, while watching the semi-finals clash between Nigeria and South Africa at the Africa Cup of Nations, President Bola Tinubu has expressed his deep sorrow.

A source close to the politician revealed that Ojougboh passed away during the Nigeria vs South Africa match.

According to the source, Ojougboh reportedly suffered a massive heart attack and collapsed after South Africa scored a penalty, prompting an outcry from him.

Meanwhile, Tinubu, through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, has extended his condolences to the Ojougboh family, the government, and the people of Delta State.

In a statement by Ngelale, Tinubu expressed his grief over the loss of Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, the former Executive Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, who passed away on Wednesday, and offered prayers for the peaceful rest of the departed.

Tinubu also urged Ojougboh’s family to draw strength and solace from the memories and legacy of the late APC chieftain.

Ojougboh had previously served as the representative for the Ika Federal Constituency of Delta State in the House of Representatives.
