In Abuja on Tuesday, Mr Charles Idahosa, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), accused certain national officers of the party from APC-controlled northern states of exacerbating the ongoing crisis within the party in Edo State.

Idahosa made these remarks during a meeting hosted by the party’s national Vice-Chairman, Dan Orbih.

He alleged that these leaders were “acting as mercenaries bent on selling the soul of the party in Edo to the highest bidder.”

These allegations came in light of the controversies surrounding the recent election of ward ad-hoc delegates in Edo.

Idahosa acknowledged the gravity of the issues raised by the nine aspirants who had protested Saturday’s election.

He cautioned that if these issues were not promptly addressed, the PDP would suffer severe consequences in Edo.

Idahosa, who served as a former Political Adviser during former Adams Oshiomhole administration, claimed that the crisis within the party had been fueled by PDP officials from core northern states presently under the control of the APC.

He asserted that, having failed to deliver their states to the PDP, they were now focused on exploiting the situation in Edo.

Expressing his prediction directly to the national vice-chairman, Idahosa emphasized the detrimental impact if the matter is not rectified.

He urged for the corrective action, stating, “PDP is dead in Edo” if the anomaly was not addressed.
