SDP: Ajaya Denies Withdrawing Case Against Ododo from Tribunal

Contrary to circulating information, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has refuted claims that its candidate, Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, withdrew his case from the election petition tribunal challenging the outcome of the November 11 governorship election in Kogi State.

After the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Ahmed Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner, rumors began to circulate that SDP had conceded defeat and would no longer challenge the APC victory in court.

However, the Director of New Media, Muri/Sam Campaign Council/SDP, Isaiah Davies Ijele, dismissed these claims as false and urged the party’s supporters to disregard them.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Ijele stated that those spreading the information are speaking out of delusional rage or hallucinogenic depression. He affirmed, “This is to inform our teaming supporters that Murtala Ajaka and the Social Democratic Party will not succumb to any pressure to stand down the case at the tribunal.”

Furthermore, he assured that their team of solicitors is prepared and waiting for the commencement of court proceedings within the allotted time provided by law for filings and counter filings.

Addressing the supporters, Ijele urged them to ignore the fake rumors from “failed politicians who could not prove their capacities and love for humanity when in power.”
