Police in Adamawa Announce Road Diversion for Crossover Service

Anticipating the cross-over night on December 31, 2024, the Adamawa State Police Command has announced a traffic diversion around the police flyover in Yola, the state capital.

A statement issued by SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa Police Command, outlined the traffic diversions. Those traveling from Yola International Airport to Yola Town should divert from the Fire Service Roundabout through Bekaji and the Federal Secretariat. Meanwhile, those heading to Numan Road from Dougirei are advised to follow Ribadu Square through to Target Junction, up to the Fire Service Roundabout.

The statement also announced that the night of entertainment and waiting would take place at the Great Interchange Flyover by the Police Headquarters.

To ensure effective policing during this period, the command informed the public about adequate security deployment around the city and the implementation of traffic diversions at strategic locations around the event ground, involving all sister security agencies. The command urged the public to keep their vehicles away from the event area and not to panic when encountering heavy police visibility at various traffic control points. These measures are in place to facilitate the free flow of traffic, conduct stop-and-search operations, and implement vehicular and foot patrols, among other security measures.

Furthermore, the command appealed to the public to cooperate with security agencies and assured its commitment to maintaining sustainable peace in the state.
