The former speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na’abba’s demise has been mourned by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC. Na’abba passed away in Abuja after battling an undisclosed illness. His body was flown to the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport from Abuja and laid to rest in Kano State on the same day.

NLC, in a statement by its President, Joe Ajaero, expressed sorrow over the loss and described Na’abba as a fine gentleman who had made sacrifices for the country’s democracy. Ajaero highlighted the late lawmaker’s role in thwarting the third term agenda and holding the executive accountable for their actions, almost leading to the impeachment of the President.

The statement acknowledged Na’abba as a principled politician and one of the greatest heroes of the country’s democracy.
