Amnesty International has urged the federal government to conduct an investigation into the security failures that allowed the attack in Plateau State. The organization reported that over 140 people were killed by gunmen in 20 villages in Bokkos and Barki-Ladi Local Government Areas. The AI Country Director, Isa Sanusi, stated that an independent panel should be set up by President Bola Tinubu to investigate the security agencies’ failure to repel the attack. The organization emphasized the need for immediate action to prevent further loss of lives. Sanusi also criticized the government for its neglect of the affected communities and its failure to address the increasing insecurity in the country. Amnesty International called for genuine commitment to protecting the people and ensuring justice.
