Sanwo Olu felicitates Oba of Lagos at 80

Shehu Sani, a former member of the Senate, expressed his distress over the recent violent attacks and property destruction in Plateau State, specifically in Jos. The Plateau State Police Command revealed that 96 individuals lost their lives and 221 houses were set on fire during the Christmas Eve assaults carried out by gunmen. The attacks occurred in 15 communities within Bokkos and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas, and also resulted in the destruction of eight vehicles.

Shehu Sani condemned the gruesome incident as an extreme act of cruelty and inhumanity, lamenting that it was one of the most wicked acts he has ever witnessed. He urged for a collective condemnation of the violence and emphasized the need for justice, as well as the avoidance of justifying mass murder through religious or ethnic affiliations. He emphasized the harrowing image of a baby crying on the back of its deceased mother, stressing that it should deeply trouble the conscience of every responsible citizen in the country.
