Edo State NLC Commends Obaseki’s Approval of 13-Month Salary Payment

Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Edo State Council, Comrade Chief Odion Olaye, expressed the gratitude of workers in the Edo State Civil/Public Service towards Governor Obaseki for his consideration of their welfare, stating, “We, on behalf of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the working people of Edo State wish to put on record the unprecedented and landmark decision of Governor Godwin Obaseki to pay the Edo Worker on the 11th of December, 2023.”

Olaye emphasized the exceptional nature of the December salary payment to State Government workers, deeming it as a significant and historic benchmark set by the governor without external pressure, and lauded the decision to honor the pledge of the 13th-month salary despite economic challenges faced by the country.

He further conveyed the workers’ profound gratitude to Governor Obaseki for his kindness and benevolence, underscoring their unwavering support and commitment to the current administration and its future endeavors.

Assuring Governor Obaseki of the workers’ support and solidarity, the Edo State NLC Chairman reiterated, “We express our unalloyed commitment to Your Excellency’s Administration and our resolve to remain with you in all your drive to complete your tenure strongly and have a worthy successor.”

“Be assured always of the Solidarity of the Edo State Workers,” he added.
