Nigerian forward, Tolu Arokodare, emerged as the hero, securing a brace to guide KRC Genk to a 3-0 victory against champions Royal Antwerp at the Cegeka Arena.

The home team took the lead with a goal from Gambia forward Alieu Fadera in the 10th minute.

Arokodare then seized the spotlight after coming on to replace Christopher Bonsu Baah in the 69th minute.

The 23-year-old doubled Genk’s advantage 15 minutes from time, with his compatriot, Yira Sor, providing the assist.

The striker added the third goal in the 77th minute with a brilliant solo effort.

Arokodare has now scored six goals in 19 league appearances for the Smurfs this season. He is currently the second player of the season to score twice after coming on as a substitute in a Belgian Pro League game.

Antwerp had Nigerian duo, Alhassan Yusuf and Chidera Ejuke, in the game.
